Posted: 7th November 2024
At My Solas, we love to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals making a difference in the disability sector.
Today, we introduce you to Mayan Maranda, the dynamic CEO of May and Tay, a consulting collective that offers a wide range of services including bookkeeping, accounting, advisory, and NDIS support.
Mayan brings over a decade of experience in financial management across various sectors and a deep commitment to the disability community.
Q: What is your background and professional experience? Mayan Maranda: I have extensive experience in financial management across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. I have also worked as a plan manager and have lived experience as a carer, which has given me extensive knowledge of the NDIS and its pricing structure.
Q: When did you start May and Tay, and why? Mayan Maranda: May and Tay has been operating for just over 12 months. It started because I already had an interest in the disability sector and saw a gap in the market for providers needing help with billing and staying compliant.
Q: Tay is your sister – what’s it like working with family? Mayan Maranda: Working with family is great. We keep each other accountable, and since we both have financial backgrounds but different personalities, we can easily bounce ideas off each other. This creates discussions around different perspectives while still understanding and supporting one another.
Q: What has been one of your proudest achievements since starting May and Tay? Mayan Maranda: One of my proudest achievements has been making a tangible difference in the lives of participants. Knowing that our work positively impacts people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.
Mayan's dedication to empowering the disability community through her work at May and Tay is truly inspiring. If you're looking for expert advice and support in bookkeeping, accounting, or navigating the NDIS, May and Tay is here to help.
