Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what inspired you to start KC Support Services?

A: Originally from Geelong, Victoria, I've lived and worked in various cities including New York, Beijing, and Sydney on my journey to call Brisbane home. My career in professional sports as a sport scientist and strength and conditioning coach was driven by a desire to help people become their best. This inspired me to start KC Support Services, bringing my experience to the broader community.

Q: What motivated you to focus on supporting the disability community specifically?

A: My younger brother's involvement with the London Paralympic Games and my personal experience as a support worker inspired me. Witnessing the power of teamwork to overcome challenges and achieve greatness drove my passion for helping others in the disability sector.

Q: What services does KC Support Services offer to NDIS participants?

A: We offer a range of services focusing on two key areas: Allied Health (including physiotherapy, dietetics, and exercise physiology) and Support Work (community access and capacity building). Our goal is to improve both physiological and psychological attributes.

Q: How do you envision the future of KC Support Services and its role in the community?

A: I aim to evolve KC Support Services over time, focusing on connection, growth, and education. Empowering those we work with through knowledge is a big part of our vision.

Q: How do you choose your team members and keep them engaged and upskilled to support participants?

A: Choosing the right team is crucial. We ensure the right staff are connected with the right participants, based on individual needs. Regular meetings, external stakeholder interactions, and ongoing training are essential for our growth.
