Disability Support Worker - Child Safety
Job Description
Pebble Community is seeking 12 experienced and qualified support workers to work on a rotating 2:1 roster (2 support staff to 1 client) on a 24/7 basis. The support is for an 18-year-old male residing in Burpengary, with a clear PBSP in place to assist him.
The shift pattern is as follows:
- 7 days a week
- 6 am - 2 pm
- 2 pm - 10 pm
- Active awake shift 10 pm - 6 am
Support staff must complete the following training before starting shifts:
- Hope and Healing Training
- Medication Administration and Recording
- TCI Training (August 5-9), which takes 5 days and includes an exam
Support requirements:
- Engage the client in a day program or consistent routine. The client is a very solitary young person and easily overwhelmed, which can lead to outbursts.
- Have a solid understanding of incident recognition and reporting as the incident reporting policy and procedures are very strict, necessitating the 2:1 support ratio at all times.
