Male Support Worker 20-35 years old
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced male Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be aged between 20-35 years old and will possess prior experience in supporting individuals with mental health and behavioral challenges. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting the male client to achieve their goals, manage their behaviors, and improve their overall quality of life. English must be your first language. Flexible workdays and hours. Client does raise his voice as this is a learnt communication style, however he has never hurt a support worker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to client with mental health and behavioral needs, prompting domestic cleaning, emotional support, and assistance with daily activities.
- Monitor and record client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition.
- Employ de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies effectively and empathetically.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for client.
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide immediate support during emergencies.
- Facilitate and encourage client participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and care.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 20 and maximum age of 35 years old.
- Previous experience in a similar role supporting individuals with mental health and behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and empathy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
